Obituary of Wayne Michael Hollett
HOLLETT, Wayne Micheal- Age 74 of Halifax, It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Wayne Hollett, who went to be with the Lord on September 4, 2024. He passed away at the Halifax Hospice surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in Halifax on January 6, 1950, to the late Donald and Florence-Aileen Hollett. He truly loved all his family, was passionate about his faith, and loved sharing the good word with others. He retired after receiving a long service award for 25 years employed with the Government in the province of Nova Scotia.
Wayne enjoyed birdwatching while on his many nature walks and always kept the bird feeders supplied around his home so he could enjoy watching them feed around the property.
He loved to spend hours in the garden harvesting vegetables so he could share the blessings with his family, friends, and others in the community. Wayne truly enjoyed all the little blessings in life. He was full of wisdom and loved to share his knowledge to help others. Even in his final days, he comforted us and let us know that he knew where he was going and looked forward to seeing God and Mom in heaven. He will miss them no more. Our lives will forever be changed without our father and grandfather.
He is survived by his son, Ronald (Susan) Hollett; daughter, Jennifer (David) Hollett; granddaughter, Elizabeth (Connor Pittman); brother, Keith (Karlene) Hollett; sisters, Edna (Wayne) Oakley, Donna (Peter) Foley, and Sharon (Brian) Buggie; several nieces and nephews. Wayne was predeceased by his loving wife, Maryanne Hollett; his brothers, Junior and Robert Hollett; sister, Linda Hollett.
Arrangements and Cremation has been entrusted to J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, 149 Herring Cove Road. In keeping with Wayne’s wishes, a visitation will take place on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 6-8 PM at Open Door Community Church, 11 Aldergrove Drive, Halifax, N.S. B3R 1M6. Followed by a Funeral Service on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Church.
