Wayne Gillespie Obituary
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Wayne Albert Gillespie, which occurred on Sunday, August 18th, 2024. Born on November 10th, 1974, in Saint John, he is the son of the late Wayne Keating and Dianne (Gunn) Gillespie. Wayne worked for Steves Renovations as a carpenter for many years. In his earlier years, he was a little league pitcher. He loved playing darts which he did for 28 years. He enjoyed biking, hunting and was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan. Wayne will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Wayne is survived by his loving and devoted wife Lynn (Chandler) of 23 years; sons Cody Gillespie and Donavin Legge both of Saint John; daughters Nikita Gillespie (Jackson) and Trena Gamblin all of Saint John; brothers Ralph “Bimbo” Gillespie of Saint John and Lloyd Gillespie (Eshelsa) of Miramichi; sister Susan Gillespie of Saint John; grandchildren Mason, Gabriella, Dominic and Linkin; nieces and nephews Courtney, Budd and Ben; as well as many friends. Along with his parents, Wayne was predeceased by his brother Robert.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424) with visitation being held on Friday, August 23rd from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Memorial Service will take place in the Fundy chapel on Saturday, August 24th at 10 a.m. Interment will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Wayne may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
