Virginia Marie McAfee Obituary
It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Virginia Marie McAfee, in Edmonton, AB on February 2, 2024, leaving us too soon. Virginia was 41 years old.
Virginia was born in Calgary, AB., a daughter to Bill and Cynthia McAfee, on May 19, 1982. The family moved to Carseland, AB in April of 1988. She attended the Carseland Elementary School, Samuel Crowther Jr. High School and graduated from Strathmore High School in 2000.
Virginia, referred to as “Virg” by many, was an avid artist. Creativity was her outlet, expressing herself in any medium she could get her hands on. Painting anything from shop windows to theatre murals.
Virginia’s love of music would fill her house, she was always singing, humming, or whistling a tune. She was busy doing what she loved, whether it was working in the garden, going on walks, volunteering with her children, or having a fire in the backyard. She kept everyone laughing and her door was also open. Nothing made Virginia happier than cheering on her kids in anything that they did. She was always there for her children helping any where she could, whether it be at a baseball game or at the Ponoka Legion. Family was everything to Virginia.
In 2010, Virginia and her children moved to Ponoka, AB. Once there, she begun to work in an autobody shop, which led her to find a passion in autobody work. Virginia attained her Journeyman Autobody Technician/ Autobody Refinisher certificate.
Virginia is survived by her children, A.Milo Emlaw, Cameron Emlaw and Kurtis McAfee. She is also survived by her parents Bill and Cynthia McAfee, her brother Daniel (Amanda) McAfee, Sarah (Andrew) Potter, her niece Peyton and nephews Dawson and Caleb. As well as numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
A Memorial Service for Virginia will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Wheatland Funeral Chapel, 202 Lakeside Blvd, Strathmore, AB.
