Passed peacefully at Health Sciences Centre, surrounded by love. Predeceased on January 31, 2024 by Berit, his wife of 67 years, by his parents William and Ellen (Gardner), by his brothers E. Kenneth and Guy and by his sisters Joyce Mills, Minnie Goodyear and Loretta Scott. Left with fond and loving memories are his daughter Karin, of Bergen Norway, and son Eric (Cherie) of Victoria, BC, by granddaughter Amanda and four great-grandchildren all of Denmark; by his brother Alex Morris, sisters Marie Harris and Carol Hall, as well as a large extended family, all of whom were very important to him. Gathering with family to share a few stories and a good laugh was one of his greatest pleasures. Victor was a lifelong learner and a contributing columnist to The Packet, The Stars & Stripes and other periodicals. He served his country as a proud member of the Royal Canadian Air Force through international postings in Czechoslovakia, Moscow, Germany and Texas. As well as serving in the Federal Government, he was a dedicated community volunteer. His participation in the volunteer fire department, the Royal Canadian Legion and the Masonic Lodge were central to his enjoyment of life.
A celebration of life will be held at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Clarenville on Thursday, July 25th at 2:00pm. Committal to follow at a later date in Nova Scotia.
Donations in his memory may be made to St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Clarenville.
