Obituary
In 2002 Vera was diagnosed with Takayasu (Pulseless disease) and was given 10-15 years left with her family. The strong super woman that she was, she out lived her prognosis another 10 years! She lived as long as she could, however, could not suffer any more. And God needed her too.
Her favorite past times were watching her favourite team, the Chicago Blackhawks, watching movies and playing Bingo! But mostly, she loved family gatherings and spending time with family.
She always talked about her trip to the mountains with her cousin/sisters, and daughter, she really loved it and always talked about going back. We had always planned a sister trip but kept waiting for her to get better.
Vera, was born and raised in Ministikwan. Young Vera was a loud and a bratty little girl, she knew how to get her way most of the time. She was very creative when it came to building forts in the bushes, a childhood favourite thing to do with the Crookedneck family kids.
When she grew older she had her children, she loved them so much. Vera was a super woman, strong, independent, a fighter, and very inspirational. Her ailments did not keep her from staying positive, living life genuinely, and her kind soul remained illuminating. There was always a brightness with her and she was loved by so many, and she loved many. Let’s let her legacy live on by honouring the way she was. She loved bringing joy to her family through cooking, she saw it bring so much joy to her family. She loved it so that she made it her career. She was a certified cook and she also gained many other skills; she always kept herself busy and motivated.
