The family announces with sorrow the death of Vera Perkovic who passed away on Wednesday, November 8th at the age of 91 at the Golden Manor.
Beloved wife of the late Tomo Perkovic (2018). Loving mother of Nada Anderchek (Steve). She will be sadly missed by her granddaughters Karina Rice (Eryk) and Natasha Cramer (Steven), and by her great-grandchildren Beau and Bree Rice and Jack Cramer.
Predeceased by her parents Mile and Kata Stefanic of Croatia and her brothers Branko and Slavko of Canada.
Survived by her sisters-in-law Milka Stefanic of Corona, Milka Stefanic of Schumacher, and Anka Grbavica of Croatia. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins in Croatia and Canada.
Vera and her family immigrated to Canada in 1968. She worked at the Bon Air Motel and in the Assey office at the McIntyre Mine.
Besides her family, cooking and nature were her passions. Vera loved to spend hours in her kitchen making her famous cabbage rolls, Baba’s supica (soup) and Croatian desserts.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Cohen and staff for years of exceptional care, as well as the staff of East Three at the Golden Manor for their care and compassion.
Visitation will take place Saturday, November 11th from 10:00-12:00 noon at the Lessard-Stephens Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 noon in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment at the Timmins Memorial Cemetery.
Remembrance donations made to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
