It is with heavy hearts that the family of Toni Blutstein announces the peaceful passing of their Matriarch, in her ninety-ninth year, on Friday, March 1, 2024, in her home, moments after welcoming Shabbat. A true “Yiddishe Mamme, and a kind soul”. Devoted wife of the late Louis Blutstein. Beloved mother and mother-in-law of Sabina and Harvey Sternthal, Judi and Ronnie Kornbluth. Precious “Bubby” of Marni and Paul, Francie and Doug, Lori and Georges; Jeremy and Jessica, Jill and Ryan, Michelle and Alex. Cherished great-grandmother of Ryan, and Lee Dicker; Kasey, and Jamie Wiseman; Chloe, and Sam Berberi; Lottie, Sienna, and Ella Kornbluth; Luca, and Bowie Cymet; and Louis Govshievich. Loving sister and sister-in-law of Paula and the late Issie Latkowcer, the late Frances and the late Janek Widman (Bella Widman). Special “Auntie Toncia” to her nieces and nephews. To “Bubby”, family was her treasure, and each child her “jewel.” She will be fondly remembered by everyone she touched with her gentle nature.
Heartfelt gratitude to Toni’s compassionate caregivers, Mildred David, Lucy Reyes, and Josie Taplac, who loved “Bubby” like their own. Special thanks to Laura Choinière from CLSC René-Cassin, without whose support “Bubby” could not have remained in the comfort of her home and with the utmost dignity.
Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Monday, March 4 at 12:00 noon. Burial at the Zichron Kedoshim Cemetery, Anshei Ukraina Section, de la Savane. Shiva at her home.
