Obituary of Terry Proulx
After a short but valiant fight, Terry Denis William Joseph Proulx was called home to be with those gone before on December 2nd, 2023, at the age of 52. Mourning his loss are his wife, Laura Stewart, his children Richard, Stewart (Megan Rowe), Lillian (Owen Stencell), and Joseph (Micky Pariseau). Also, his siblings Zenon (Diane Cheney), Nick (Norm Beaudoin), Allan (Diane Giroux), Denis, Robert (Nat Lamirande), Tammy (Les Burgess), and Nancy (James Rean). Predeceased by his father Richard, mother Jacqueline (nee Chartrand), sister Jeanne (Gerry Aubin), brother Roger and wingman Ronnie Thrasher. Loved by so many aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins and a special bff. Fur babies Rosie, Sugar and Leo are missing their scratches and cuddles. Terry was a proud employee of the Public Health Agency of Canada and invested great work ethics into his role as Warehouse Officer in Charge that allowed him the opportunity to travel extensively throughout Canada aiding in many disaster relief events. His close bonds with his colleagues were very important to him, more family than simply coworkers. Of Terry’s many interests, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and home renovations, which his century old home provided many opportunities for. His greatest accomplishments by far were in the hearts, minds and spirits forged in his amazing children. They will carry on his legacy with pride. The family would like to thank all those who were so generous with their time in sending messages, food and visits of support during this time of anxiety and uncertainty. The staff of the Shawville hospital, nurses, P. S. W.’s, housekeepers, drivers, sitters and administrative staff were so compassionate and professional and provided Terry with the best of care under ever constricting circumstances. And to Dr. Croteau, the family sends deepest gratitude for your professionalism and care. A celebration of a life well lived will be held at Gavan’s Hotel, 1157 Clarendon Street, Quyon, Qc on Sunday, December 10 from 1 to 5 p.m. If you would like to make a donation in Terry’s memory, the family would like you to consider the Canadian Cancer Society, the Quyon Community Association, or the Quyon Legion as a recipient. Let your memories warm you as grief is simply love with nowhere to go.
