It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Terry Thompson on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the age of 63. He will be forever loved and remembered by his wife Tammy, beloved dog Lucy, cherished daughter Brandi. Loving son of Judy Grenier (Glenn) and the late Herb Thompson. Beloved brother of Tammy Palocz (Ray), niece Paige (Derek), nephew Peyton (Alie), Forever in the hearts of Lindsey (Kyle), Brittney (Josh) and his 4 grandsons Fletcher, Dawson, Eldridge and Barrett. Will be greatly missed by his lifelong friends Blake Davis, Leslie Thompson and Rob Dalgety. Terry always said he had the best neighbours, Maryann and Bernard who will miss him dearly. Terry was born and raised in Wallaceburg where, from an early age, he worked for his Grandfather J.L. Thompson at the lumber yard and later on Fawn Island. As a youngster Terry’s happiest memories were of the summers up north at the family cottage where he found his passion for golf. His teen years were spent hunting and fishing at the family cottage in Mitchells Bay. There were many fall hunts at his Dad’s Hunt camp in Ottawa. Terry spent lots of time at the Davis family farm in the bush hunting and chopping wood for his cozy nights by the fire at home. A member of the Mooretown Golf Men’s Senior League, he played some of his best rounds in the Ryder Cup and other elite courses. Terry started his career at Eaton-Yale manufacturing spent 6 years in Fort McMurray, and finally retiring from Arlanxeo Canada in Sarnia. Terry was a larger than life, one-of-kind who could captivate any room with his animated stories. He made friends wherever he went, always leaving a lasting impression. If you knew Terry, you knew he loved a good deal! He spent his Sunday afternoons watching sports, and sharing stats.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg, 519.627.3231. A celebration of Terry’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion in Wallaceburg on Friday, February 16 from 1 – 5 PM. If you wish, donations in Terry’s memory to Pet and Wildlife Rescue, Wallaceburg, may be left at the funeral home.
