It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Terry E Davis. Terry was born March 4th, 1958 in California, USA. His family moved back to Canada and settled in Port Arthur. Terry was the middle child of three (Bill & Cathy) and their family along with aunts, uncles and cousins took up the entire block on Balsam St. Terry graduated from Hillcrest Highschool, Confederation College Survey Program and went on to work 35+ years at J.D. Barnes Ltd as a surveyor, draftsman and pipeline specialist.
Terry had a few hobbies. He was a past member of McGillivray Pipe Band where he had won national drum competition and was part of the group that marched in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California. He loved hockey and grew up refereeing and cheering on his Oilers. He was a die-hard Dodger Blue fan and faithfully cheered them on with his friend J.R. He shared success on the curling ice as well through the college school boys. His biggest success was being the founder of the Sticks and Stones little rock curling program. For 30 years he introduced the game to hundreds of children who went on to become life-long curlers, provincial and national champions. He shared joy and excitement in each of their victories.
Terry was predeceased by his Father Edward, his sister Cathy, best friend Clint Barton, Co-Founders of the Sticks and Stones Angus Backman, and Terry’s Mother Lucille Romick (Petrone). He will be loved and remembered by Son Micheal (Jorji), Grandchildren Parker, Beckham, & Blair, Brother Bill (Regina), nephews Billy, Graham, Keith, TJ, and other family, friends and members of the P.A.C.C.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Port Arthur Curling Centre on Saturday June 8th from 1pm-4pm. Stop by, remember Terry, and share a story. In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorial contributions are suggested to the Port Arthur Curling Centre for their roof top units.
