KILLEN, Sylvia (nee. Sirkel)
Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Freeport Hospital, Kitchener. Sylvia was born 87 years ago in Estonia, and has been a long-time resident of Baden, Ontario.
Cherished and loving wife of Leon Killen whom she married 66 years ago. Devoted mother of Linda Tiegs (Jim), and Lisa Barrow (Bill). Proud and caring grandmother of Ashley Szusz (Ryan) and Sean (Megan) and great-grandmother of Jaden, Maya, Landon Szusz, and Logan and Sawyer Barrow.
Sylvia is predeceased by her father and mother Eduard and Rosalie (Lepek) Sirkel, and by sisters Hille and Vilma Sirkel.
Sylvia was a lover of the outdoors, she spent much of her time tending to her gardens and flower beds, mowing her beautiful property and tending to the snow maintenance. She adored her loving family and was most happy when they were surrounding her.
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service, at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg, on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow. Pastor Bonnie Schelter Brown to officiate. Interment will be held later in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, Kitchener.
