Summer McIsaac Obituary
It is with a heavy hearts that the family announce the passing of Summer Dinika McIsaac on December 13th, 2023 with her dad by her side at the Health Science Centre, St. John’s at the tender age of 25 years.
Summer will always be remembered for her wonderful smile and infectious laugh. She was happy go lucky and full of life. She was funny, loving, enjoyed a game of cards, and was a real jokester. She would help anyone in need, as she was a person who gave with her whole heart. Even after her death, Summer helped families in need by becoming an organ donor. She lived her life to the fullest during her 25 years, living more than most live in a life time. She enjoyed working alongside her soul mate Garet, as well as spending time with her family and friends.
She leaves to mourn with many precious memories: her dad Patrick McIsaac (Catherine); her mom Susan Jesso (James); her fiancé Garet Rotchford; her sisters: Ashley and Valerie; her brothers: Cody and Devon; her nannies: Elizabeth Alexander and Joan Benoit; her mother in law Karen Rotchford; her brother in law Josh (Kim); her aunt Angela; and her uncles: Troy, Adam, Dillon, Thomas, Don, Travis, and Timmy; as well as a large circle of great aunts, great uncles, cousins, and friends. She also leaves to mourn her fur babies: Kyra, Koda, and Dallas.
Summer is predeceased by: her grandfathers: Jerry McIsaac and Daniel Jesso; father in law Eddie Colson; great grandparents, great aunts; great uncles; and a special love one who was there to welcome her home.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the paramedics, the emergency room staff and doctors of Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, the ICU staff and doctors of the Western Memorial Regional Hospital for their kindness and compassion. The Health Science Centre staff and doctors for graciously taking care of Summer as they prepared her for her organ donations – her gift of life to others. A special thank you to my Aunt Bernice for helping with all the arrangements.
A visitation will take place on Friday, December 22nd 7:00 – 9:00 PM from Russell’s Funeral Home, Stephenville. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 23rd at 1:00 PM at St. Stephen’s Parish, West Street. An interment will be at a later date.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to charity of one’s own choice or to Children’s Wish Foundation or BSG Sick Children’s Foundation.
SHE SPROUTED LOVE LIKE FLOWERS,
GREW A GARDEN IN HER MIND,
AND EVEN ON THE DARKEST DAYS,
FROM HER SMILE THE SUN STILL SHINED.
REMEMBER THE JOY AND LOVE SHE BROUGHT INTO OUR LIVES.
