Sidney Budgell Obituary
Passed peacefully away after a lengthy illness on February 29th, 2024 at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Centre in Botwood, NL (Raymond Willis) Sidney Budgell. He was surrounded by his family and friends in his final hours. Sidney was born in Bishop’s Falls, NL on October 18, 1941 at age 82.
Sidney was a hard working man. Spent years driving truck, lobster fishing and driving plow truck for the department of highways before he retired. He spent years raising livestock and growing his own vegetables. Sidney loved to be in the woods whether it was cutting firewood or hunting. In his free time he would visit his friends for a coffee or tea. He was well loved by everyone who met him and he couldn’t go anywhere without meeting someone he knew and having to stop for a chat. Sidney was so proud of his family and told everyone about them. He found the lord in his later years and has been a faithful Christian ever since. He met his wife Rosie and married her in 1973. He was devastated by her loss in 2017.
Sidney was predeceased by his parents Gordon and Eliza Budgell; his beloved wife Rosie; parents-in-law Charles & Pearl Peckford; sisters Jane (Ronald) Pelley and Beatrice (Jim) Peckford
Left to remember him with fond and loving memories are his daughter Tracey (Junior) ; sons Bradley (Alison) and Justin (April) ; brother Dolph (Abby); sisters Mary and Lillian (Wilf); grandchildren Damian, Gabrielle, Des, Alexis, Colby, Jordyn, Mallory, Kendra; great grandson Kaeden and a large circle of family and friends.
Pastor Janet Strickland will conduct the funeral service at the hall in Phillips Head on Monday, March 4th 2024 at 1pm. Interment to follow at the United Pentecost Cemetery, Bishop’s Falls. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to assist the Budgell family.
