Shirley Florence Rose, age 97, of the Valley View
Villa, formerly of Trenton and Hillside, passed away Tuesday,
September 12, 2023, in the Aberdeen Hospital. Born in Cape Breton, she
was a daughter of the late William and Emily (White) Fife. She was a
faithful member and supporter of the First United Church and a
lifelong resident of Trenton. Even as a nursing home resident in
recent years, she kept up-to-date with what was happening in the
church and town. She was the last surviving member of her immediate
family. Shirley is survived by long-time friends and caregivers,
Bud and Thelma MacPherson. She was also supported
by several long-time friends, Marilyn Trenholm, Judy Bradbury, Claudia
Clarke, Sandra Watters and Tee Roberts. She was predeceased by her
husband, James Alfred Rose. Visitation 10-11am, followed by service at
11am Friday, September 15, in First United Church, Trenton, with Rev.
Rosemary Godin officiating. Burial in Hillside Cemetery. Donations in
her memory may be made to First United Church. Arrangements are under
the direction of R.H. Porter Funeral Home,
Trenton.
