McGill: Shirley
Passed away peacefully on January 21, 2023, at the age of 98 years. Loved by many family and friends, she will be sadly missed.
Predeceased by her adoring husband Bruce McGill of over 50 years, and their sons Peter McGill (Sue), and Tim McGill (Kim). She is survived by her loving children Steve McGill (Sylvie- Chantal), Sherri DeVarennes (Eric), and Paul McGill (Paulette). She held a special place in her heart for her many Grandchildren, Blair (Nadine), Brent, Brian (Kim), Jennifer (Ed), Michael, Jay (Lisa), Lindsay (Neil), Lauren (Max), Marie-Claire (Patrick), Courtney, Emilie-Ann (Scott), Andrew (Natasha), and Kate (Steffan). Her More than 12 Great Grandchildren will miss her kind and devoted nature.
Shirley had a multitude of very special friends and extended family members. Of special note are, nieces, nephews, Rob (Brenda), Patti (Paul), Chip (Sandy), and predeceased cousins Mary Jane Gleeson, and Joan Quinlan.
Many thanks To the staff Emma’s Neighbourhood in Taunton Mills who provided exceptional care and attention to Shirley throughout her last years.
Visitation will be held at the DeStefano Funeral Home 1289 Keith Ross Drive in Oshawa (905) 440 3595 on Friday January 27th, 2023 from 11:00am to 12:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at 12:00pm. Interment will follow at Pine Ridge Memorial Gardens in Pickering.
In Lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Doctors without Borders, St. Vincent de Paul, Covenant House. Or Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre.
