It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that the family of Sheila Weishar announce her passing, at home on Saturday, September 21, 2024.
Born May 10, 1957 in Walkerton, Ontario, Sheila was the eldest daughter of the late Harvey and Frances Weishar, nee Cronin. She is survived by; the love of her life, Bob Heggie, daughter Nicole Krochak, stepdaughter Forest Carbonaro (Jeramie), stepson Robert Heggie (Josi), and grandchildren; Cayo, Avery, Cole, Emma and Max.
She also leaves behind siblings and family members who she cherished and who loved her deeply; brother, Brad Weishar (Linda Withers), and sisters, Gail Frankcom, and Denise Harvey (Mark). Nieces; Cassandra Roy (Steve), Alyssa Frankcom(Kirk) and Sarah Harvey. Nephews; Michael Weishar ( Chelsea) Aaron Frankcom, and David Harvey. She was very much like an aunt to Brad’s stepchildren, Jill Withers-Hum (Connor) and Devin Withers-Hum (Homayra).
Sheila was the eldest granddaughter of the Weishar family and she will be dearly missed by her numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins of both the Cronin and Weishar families. Sheila and Bob enjoyed attending the annual Weishar family reunion and was never happier than when she was surrounded by family. Family was everything to her. She made everyone in her life feel listened to, special, and loved.
Sheila graduated from Georgian College and worked as a dental assistant for several years. In recent years, she worked with her brother, Brad during shutdowns in the oil industry. Sheila was hard working and extremely dedicated. She brought happiness to colleagues, even those she knew only briefly, with her kindness, often treating them to small gifts on a regular basis, which gave her great joy.
She always faced challenges with grace and great determination, especially with respect to her recent surgery of a double lung transplant March 27, 2024 at the Toronto General Hospital. Her family is grateful to the caring staff and team that supported her during her months of residency in hospital and the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute during her journey through her path to recovery.
Some of her favourite activities included travelling, gardening, puzzles and spending time in her craft room. She had a passion for creativity and took pride in home decorating. She developed her own small business, Clearwater Soap in Muskoka. Sheila was extremely talented and a proud representative at local craft fairs and the annual Rousseau Summer Market.
Another passion for Sheila was getting up at the crack of dawn on Saturday mornings for yard sales. It was always an enthusiastic adventure to find and either restore or share her findings with others. Whether it was thrift shopping or garage sales she always had someone or something special in mind that became treasures found in her «tickle trunk».
Sheila will forever be remembered for her generous and giving nature. She had a heart filled with love and she truly was our greatest family treasure. In Sheila’s memory donations may be made to the Canadian Lung Association or a charity of choice. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
