Sheila Plisson passed away peacefully on January 22, 2024. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Stanley in 2021 and her son Gary in 2014. She is survived by her son Doug (Elizabeth) and daughter-in-law Laurie, grandchildren Jennifer (Jackie), Kim (Scott), Brent (Stacey), Joseph and Kelsey and great granchildren Alessa, Cowin, Seth, Rhys and Makenna.
A long time resident of Powell River, Sheila was born in Rumsey, Alberta and lived for a time in Oregon before she and her father settled in Powell River when she was a young girl.
Sheila married Stan in 1949 and enjoyed many outdoor adventures like travelling in their camperized Volkswagen van, fishing and boating on the waters around Powell River and camping in their fifth wheel around BC and down to Arizona and Nevada. Also, they enjoyed trips to New Zealand, Britian and Hawaii.
Sheila owned a florist shop called the Flowerpot on Marine Avenue and enjoyed flower arranging all her life. As a part of the Agricultural Association Fall Fair she won awards for her booth displays. For many years Sheila was a dedicated volunteer at the Economy Shop.
The family wishes to thank Sheila’s caregivers Jeannette, Jennifer and Sharon, VCH caregivers, her doctors and all at Willingdon Creek for their kindness and care. They also thank Sheila’s wonderful neighbours.
