Sheila Ann Cochrane, 90, of Stratford died peacefully surrounded by family on March 30, 2024.
Sheila is survived by her daughters Maureen Hengeveld and Judy (Shawn) Denstedt; grandchildren Jeremy, Stacey (Scott), Katelyn Hengeveld, Emily (John), and Samuel (Hailey) Denstedt; great-grandsons Elliott and Henry Kipfer; brother-in-law John (Joan) Cochrane; sister-in-law Kathleen (Reynold) Robertson.
Predeceased by her husband Rev. Robert Cochrane; parents Joseph and Thelma Smith; sister Margaret Darbyson; brother James Smith and son-in-law John Hengeveld.
Sheila and Bob spent many years ministering through the Presbyterian Church across Canada. Upon Bob’s retirement, Sheila returned to work at Thompson Gardens in Corunna and then Brunner Nursing Home/Country Meadows. In retirement, she enjoyed travel and visiting with family and friends as long as she could. She also enjoyed a good game of bridge and laughter up until the end.
A public memorial service will be held at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 25 St. Andrew Street, Stratford on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 1 pm followed by a gathering of fellowship in the Parish Hall. A private family interment will take place in Avondale Cemetery.
