Scott Marshall Obituary
Scott MacKay Marshall was born April 8th, 1936, in Acaciaville, Digby, Nova Scotia. Scott earned a teaching certificate from the Teacher’s College in Truro, Nova Scotia, where he met and married Judi. The pair moved to Wabush, Labrador where he taught Industrial Arts at J.R. Scott obtained a Masters of Education in Industrial Arts from State University of New York, Oswego campus, where the family lived for a year. They then moved to Flatrock, Newfoundland while he worked for the Department of Education in St. John’s. Scott was instrumental in developing the Industrial Arts curriculum and travelled across the province to implement the program. Later in his career, Scott taught Plastics through Memorial University’s Bachelor of Technology program and briefly returned to the classroom just before his retirement in June of 1994. Outside of his career, he enjoyed spending time at the cabin, moose hunting, fishing, woodworking, travelling, and developing his own photography. He was dedicated to his family and church, where he served as an Elder of Session and on the Board of Managers for decades.
Scott passed away peacefully at age eighty-eight and a half, in the presence of his family on September 25th, 2024, in St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, St. John’s, NL.
