On November 8th, in the early afternoon, Sandra (Sandi) Lianne Orr passed on peacefully to her heavenly gates with her daughter (Stevie) and son-in-law (Michael) by her side at Christine Morrison Hospice in Mission BC. During her 6 weeks at the hospice, Sandi and Stevie together created close bonds with the fellow residents and angelic staff, and found their love of the show ‘Gilmour Girls’ while drinking strawberry milkshakes. Sandi frequented their private outdoor patio to mingle, tend to the flowers and plants – a past time of hers, and marvel at the sky. We can’t thank Christine Morrison enough for the well-being and peace that Sandi exclaimed they provided her and her family.
Sandi has handed us her lifelong legacy of spreading kindness to all walks of life, advocating for animal welfare, and strongly encouraging all to think positive and to enjoy the fun and love in life. Her friends and family of animals and humans alike will greatly miss the wholesome energy and laughter that she brought into any room.
Born in Victoria, BC, Sandi grew up living an island life, enjoying the waters of Rathtrevor and Qualicum Falls and hiking the islands’ many trails. In her 20’s she began a Make-up Artistry career based out of the mainland of BC, and thoroughly enjoyed the networking parties that often followed photo shoots and campaigns. She left to raise her 3 children a few years later in Maple Ridge, and had many adventures over the following decades. Her eagerness to help others in need took her to volunteering at gathering and distributing donations for the homeless, to lending her hand to those with disabilities, and to representing/advocating for the low income community at the Legislation in Victoria BC. She loved to spend her down time playing with her dog, Sugar, eating anything pickled, being proud of her children, and providing a welcoming home and hug for loved ones to delight in.
Sandi is pre-deceased by her Father (Douglas Orr), and beloved dog (Sugar). She is survived by her Mother (Mary Orr), Her two brothers (Vic & Rob Orr), her three children (Ashley, Stevie & Wylder) and her four grandchildren (Aavie, Taylor, Lincoln & Kaid).
In leu of flowers, Sandi warmly asks if any donations could be made toward an animal charity of your choice.
