Passed away peacefully after a brief illness at the Cornwall Community Hospital on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. Ruthanna MacPherson (nee MacDougall) of Long Sault; age 80 years. Loving mother of Duncan (Pauline) and Nelson MacPherson both of Dalkeith, Jane Harrop (Robert) of Kingston and David MacPherson (late Wendy) of Alexandria. Cherished Grandmother of Morgan, Grace, Brooke and Christian MacPherson. Predeceased by her parents Thomas MacDougall and Bessie McMeekin and her husband A.K. MacPherson. Dear sister of Kenneth MacDougall (Enid), Lorraine McNaughton (late Callum) and Barbara Ross (late Allan). She will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, friends, extended family and the music community. Relatives and friends may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd. 114 Main St. South, Alexandria (525-2772) on Friday October 6 from 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be celebrated in Kirk Hill United Church, on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 11 am. Interment of cremated remains will follow in Kirk Hill United Church Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, Memorial Donations to the East Hawkesbury United Church or the Charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. As a memorial to Ruthanna a tree will be planted in a memory woods. A tree grows – memories live.
