Ruth Marie Gerth formerly of Linwood, passed away peacefully at The Village Senior’s Community in Hanover on Friday, September 29, 2023. She was 91.
Born in Wellesley Township on July 22, 1932 to the late John and Anna (nee Lantz) Koenig. Ruth worked at various places until raising her children. She enjoyed in her later life travelling the world, as well as the odd casino dates, but especially enjoyed her time spent with family and friends. She was a dedicated artist and found such joy when others admired her talents. She was also a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Linwood.
Beloved wife of John Gerth of Linwood, whom she was married to for 65 years. Loving mother of Doug (Carolyn) Gerth of Fordwich and Darryl Gerth of Kitchener. Proud grandmother of Trishalyn (Warren) Rogers, Jayme (Erin) Gerth, Christa (Jermaine) James and Nikki Gerth. Adored by her great grandchildren Jayden, Brooklyn, Chase, Cody, Ethan, Maya and her great great grandchild Jayce. Fondly remembered by her special granddaughter Karen (Jason) Hewitson and their children Braiden, Chloe, Savannah and Presley.
A special thank you to all the nurses and staff at The Village Seniors Community for taking good care of Mom and who continue to help us in caring for Dad.
To honour her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations to the Diabetes Association would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
