Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that the families of Rowena Joy Hamlyn announce her passing on Saturday, December 31st, 2022, at the Western Long Term Care facility Palliative care unit, in Corner Brook, NL, at the age of 68 years.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband of 49 years; Lloyd, her daughter; Rhonda Fowlow (Sterling), her sons; Kirby Hamlyn (Karen), and Greg Hamlyn (Carolyn), her grandchildren; Brittany Avery (Jake), Desiree Chippett (Josh), Jacob Martin (Kendra), Reed Hamlyn, Allie Hamlyn, Claire Hamlyn, and Evan Hamlyn, her great grandchildren; Nathan Avery, Addison Avery, and Cooper Avery, her siblings; Ramona Wells (Daniel), Shirley Eveleigh, Francis Banks (Dulcie), Howard Banks (Rose), Bert Banks (Ramona), Wayne Banks (Sandra), and Doreen Kelly, her brothers and sisters-in-law; Claude Hamlyn (Jean), Edna Dalley (Gerald), Ruby Hamlyn, Willie Hamlyn (Jackie), Mazie Hamlyn, Charlotte Hamlyn, and Graham Osmond.
Rowena was predeceased by her parents; Myrtle and George Banks, her brother; Clyde Banks, her two infant grandchildren; Ryan and David, her mother and father-in-law; Myrtus and Arthur Hamlyn, her sisters and brothers-in-law; Bernice Pittman (Raymond), Douglas Hamlyn, Willis Hamlyn, George Kelly, Clarence Eveleigh, and Florence Osmond.
The family will be receiving family and friends at the Pentecostal Church in Hampden, NL, on Tuesday January 3rd, 2023, from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 pm, where also the funeral service will take place, Wednesday, January 4th, 2023, at 1:00 pm, with Pastor Mark Locke officiating with the burial to follow at the Pentecostal Church section of the Hampden Community Cemetery, in Hampden, NL.
