Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Rosemary Theresa Targett on Wednesday, September 13th, 2023 at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital at the age of 74 years.
Rosemary, mom, was the light of our lives. A woman to be proud of. She was always there to help us in any way she could. Anyone that knew her knows what an energetic, resourceful and hard worker she was. She could always make us laugh and enjoyed a good joke.
Rosemary was the first female bus driver in Stephenville in 1980. She spent many years working as a seamstress, baker, cook, heavy equipment operator amongst many other jobs. She could do anything she set her mind to. She was still working at the time of her passing. She loved to cook and bake for us in her spare time. We will all miss our fancy Royal Albert meals and display of delicious desserts.
To our amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law and friend, our lives will never be the same without you. Fly high with the angels!
She leaves to mourn with many loving memories: husband Gary; children: Sherry (Dwayne) Ballett, Dawn Marie Fleming, Sheldon (Bonnie) Fleming, and Gary Targett; grandchildren: Ryan, Jenna, Gillian, and Anastasia; great grandchildren: Aaliyah, Yasin, and Jazmine; brothers: Bert (Cynthia) Barry, Billy Barry, and Glenn White (who she always called her little brother); sisters: Annie (Abbie) White, Ursula Marche, and Linda (Bill) Mulligan; brothers-in-law: Joseph “Bim” Targett and Gerald (Connie) Targett; and sisters-in-law: Krystyna Barry, Jane Pumphrey, Gertie (Bob) MacDonald, Delores (Terry) Hynes, and Judy (Jim) Hubbard; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Rosemary was predeceased by: daughter Lisa Marie Fleming; parents Bertram and Esther (nee Smith) Barry; brothers: Brian Barry and Henry Barry; brothers-in-law: Dane Targett, Doug Targett, and Jack Marche; and sister-in-law Barb Neil.
Following her wishes cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held on Monday, September 18th from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 PM at Russell’s Funeral Home, Stephenville. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, September 19th at 1:00 PM from Russell’s Funeral Home Chapel.
