It is with deep sadness that the family of Rose Yaffe announces the peaceful passing of their beautiful mother and matriarch on Monday, April 22, 2024. Most devoted wife and best friend of the late Eli Yaffe for sixty-one years. Beloved and loving mother and mother-in-law of Stephen Yaffe and France Ellyson, Shelley Yaffe and Morrie London. Cherished ‘Granny Rose’ of Jessica Yaffe and Ronald Balinsky, Zachary Yaffe, Sam Yaffe and Dana Carsley; Matthew Maislin and Nadine Emond, Alexandra Maislin and Ian Levine. Proud ‘Great-Granny’ of Caleb, Eve and Dahlia Balinsky; Maya, Noah, and Liam Maislin; Elijah Carlini; and Gracie Yaffe. Dear sister and sister-in-law of the late Freda and the late Mark Gottlieb. Predeceased by Eli’s siblings and their spouses, Claire and Jack Fogel, Harry and Lottie Yaffe, Rae and Harry Atkin, Edward and Sonia Yaffe. Rose will be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Heartfelt gratitude to Sarah Howson Baptiste for over fifty years of devotion to the family. A very special thank you to Anabelle, Annalee, Eva, Josée, Marichu, Marilou and Mika for their exceptional care and devotion. Thank you to Dr. Sanda Popescu and the 8th floor staff of Pavilion K at the Jewish General Hospital.
Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Thursday, April 25 at 12:00 p.m. Burial at Congregation Shaar Hashomayim Cemetery, 1250 chemin de la Forêt. Shiva at her home. Due to the festival of Passover, shiva commences on Wednesday, May 1.
