Ronald Root, 79, of Mitchell, passed away surrounded by family at Stratford General Hospital on Friday, February 24, 2023. Beloved husband of Sandra Root. Dear father of Ron Root Jr. (Rose), James Root (Kathy), Steven Root (Paula), Tracy Wilkinson (Kevin), Heather Chapman (Ross), Jackie Lamarche (Sean), Sandy Root Jr. and Amberly Harrison (Tim). Dear son-in-law Greg McCarthy. Loving grandfather of numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dear brother of Barbara Vazquez (Arthur). Dear brother-in-law of Angela Root. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his daughter Wendy McCarthy (2019), parents Clifford and Thelma Root, siblings Violet Kozlowski (Chester), Jack Root, Doreen Cockerham (Pete) and Darrell Root (Linda).
Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell on Monday, February 27, 2023 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. where the funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Those attending the funeral home visitation are asked to RSVP at LockhartFuneralHome.com or by calling 519-348-8643.
