It is with great sadness, we announced that Ronald Joseph Tucker, a.k.a. The Goofy Newfie passed away peacefully at Carbonear General Hospital on December 10, 2023 at the age of 72.
He is predeceased by his parents, James, Thomas Tucker and Agnes Fry Fowler Tucker. His sisters, Margaret Fewer (Ralph), Sara Barron, Frances Fitzgerald(Vincent). His brothers, James Tucker (known as Jim or Bob) and William Fowler (known as Bill Henry)(Beatrice).
Leaving to mourn with many cherished memories, his loving wife of 54 years, Beverly Tucker. His sister, Eileen Smith. His brothers in law, Maxwell Mugford (May) and Bill Barron. His children, Terry (Lorie), Denyse (Todd), Jamie and Trevor (Carol-Ann). His grandchildren Samantha (Drew), Teisha (Robbie), Jalisa (Bryci), Stephanie (Joshua), Matthew, Troy, Tyler, Toby and Ronald Junior. His great grandchildren Clara, Alexandra, Rylan, Jackson, and Zoey. As well as many longtime friends.
Ron was born and raised on Roaches Line. he met his wife, Beverly and Bay Roberts as a teenager and started their life together. He enjoyed playing in the dart league as well as fixing vehicles. He spent his life driving transport trucks, nationwide, and stateside with the radio handle “Goofy Newfie”, as well as started his own tow truck company “ Tucker’s Towing”. He was always there to lend a helping hand, and he had quite the sense of humour. All will dearly miss him and will cherish the memories and moments they’ve shared for a lifetime.
Special thanks to the palliative care team at Carbonear General Hospital, Dr. Sedeki along with his team at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Center and the Bay Roberts community health team led by Amanda Walsh. As per Ron‘s wishes there will not be a wake or a funeral service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
