With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Roger Dale Gourlay, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. Roger passed away in his home in Cambridge, Ontario on October 23, 2024.
Roger is survived by his loving wife Joyce, his children Ryan (Charlotte), Paul (Mandy), Tim (Laurie) and Becky (Simon), his grandchildren Sloan, Harlow, Mary, Paige and Julia, his father Dale, his sisters Alison and Sandy (Jim), and his loving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his mother Bessie.
Roger will forever be remembered for his infectious smile and caring soul. Roger’s greatest joy was watching his granddaughters experience life’s journey. He was the first person to brag to friends and family about something one of them had done and the pride that shone in his eyes truly showed the depth of his love for each of them.
Roger was a jack-of-all-trades who was always willing to lend a helping hand. As long as food and beer were supplied Roger took on any task with a huge smile on his face and several witty comments to keep everyone laughing.
As per Roger’s wishes, a small, private service was held to honour his passing. The family would like to invite everyone to a celebration of life that will be held in the Spring. More information will follow as to the exact date, time and location.
