Robert «The Furnace Man» Perrin, 66 of Oxford, passed away on November 5, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late Wallace and Doris (Stewart) Perrin. He is missed by his children, Christy «Pumpkin Head» Thurber, Kyle «Kk» Perrin, and Casey «Woo» Perrin; son-in-law, Kris «Smelly» Thurber; sisters, Donna Jean Perrin, Patty Perrin, and Nancy Perrin (Randy); nephew, Corey (Leanne) Perrin, and his hard working crew, Henry «Cad» Thompson and Reggie «Weg» Legere. His beloved grandchildren, «Grampy’s Girls» Macey Perrin, Payton Perrin, and Sadie Thurber, and «Grampy’s Boy» Alex Thurber, will miss him dearly, especially on Grampy Treat Day. Robert worked hard and played hard. When he was not installing and fixing furnaces throughout Cumberland County, he enjoyed woodworking, snowmobiling, motorcycling, playing guitar, Nascar, boating and of course collecting the latest gadgets and unique vehicles. He would often show off his latest find by driving from his long-time home in Hansford to the Tim Hortons in Oxford. You knew it was him by the camouflage shirt and cup of coffee in his hand. He loved good food, the latest gossip, and had a mischievous sense of humour. He was a great storyteller, even if he may or may not have embellished a little. He was generous with others and liked to treat himself too, even though he would always say «I never get anything». He was an active member of the Oxford Marksmen Association, where donations in his memory can be made. Anyone who owes him money should donate it there. Visitation will be on Saturday, November 9 from 1-3 pm at MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home & Crematorium in Oxford. If you can’t make it to the visitation, please remember Robert while having a cup of coffee.
