Obituary
November 01, 1929 – February 16, 2023
Born in Prince Edward County near Doxeys’ Corners to Clayton and Hilda (Curlette). Predeceased by brothers Clare (Lorna), Carmen (Luella), twin brother Fred (Marie) and sister Abbey Frechette (George). Floyd is survived by his wife of 68 years, Isobel (Allen) of Napanee and sons Douglas (Brenda) of Napanee and Robert (Penny) of Kingston. 2 grandchildren Adam (Dana-Rae) of Fort Frances and Amy (Billy Bigford) of Fredericton and by 2 great grandchildren, Declan and Felix Scott. A card sharp and pool shark, Floyd loved the challenge and enjoyed a good game of cribbage up to the very end. In fact, he died being fully aware that he still owed Doug $11.10 for the last game of crib. He warmly remembers his time as a CO at QDC and the many great staff he worked with at that institution. Floyd was a proud member of the Napanee Lions Club and a Melvin Jones Fellow recipient. He had a large spot in his heart for his grandchildren and would take every opportunity to visit them in Fort Frances, Winnipeg or Fredericton for special events and graduations. Many thanks to the team at the John M. Parrott Center and Dr. Sosnowski. At Floyd’s request, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be at Hannah Funeral Home, 123 Dundas St, West, Napanee on Monday, February 20, 2023 between 2PM and 5PM. Service and committal will be held at a later date. Donations to the Napanee Lions Club, CNIB or a charity of your choice are appreciated.
