Robert Donald Erwin, beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on October 15, 2024. Born on April 30, 1969, in Windsor, Ontario, Rob was a devoted family man and a loyal friend to many. Rob was the loving father to his son Dacotah, his daughter Emma, and her partner Jacob. He was also a devoted papa to Addison and Sutton, who brought immeasurable joy and laughter into his life. Rob was the cherished son of Rick and Wendy Erwin and the brother of the late Steve. He was a caring brother-in-law to Pauline and a dear uncle to Melissa, Darrin, and his wife Julia. He was also a beloved great-uncle to Sophia and Cole. Rob’s love and devotion to his family knew no bounds and his absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Professionally, Rob was a dedicated employee at Select Tool, where he was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to excellence. He was respected and admired by his colleagues and his presence will be sorely missed in the workplace.
In his leisure time, Rob was an avid football fan, with the Chicago Bears holding a special place in his heart. Rob also had a passion for barbecuing. He took great pleasure in hosting family gatherings where he could showcase his culinary skills and create lasting memories with those he held dear. Rob enjoyed nothing more than spending a Sunday cooking something in his smoker or BBQ and watching the game.
Rob’s warm and generous spirit touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kind heart, sense of humour, and unwavering love for his family and friends will be forever remembered and cherished.
The Erwin family will be receiving friends and loved ones at Families First, 1065 Lauzon Rd., East Windsor on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, from 6:00pm-9:00pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 12:00pm until the time of the Celebration of Life at 12:30pm. Following the service cremation will take place. Family and friends are invited to join the Erwin’s after the Celebration of Life at The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 255 located at 5645 Wyandotte St. East in Windsor, Ontario for a drink in Rob’s honour.
In the wake of Rob’s passing, the world has lost a truly remarkable soul. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him, and his legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire and uplift those who were touched by his presence.
