In loving memory of Robert “Bob” Kenneth Rose 91 years. It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to this wonderful and kind man. Bob passed away peacefully in his home of over 45 years on Monday, September 18th, 2023 with his daughter Charlene, his son-in-law Bruce, and his puppy Luna by his side.
Bob shared his life with his wife Stella (nee Konkol) predeceased in 2010, for over 40 years, and was a father figure to Charlene (Bruce), John (Sharon), Suzanne (Leo), & Dianne predeceased. Bob is survived by sisters Pauline, Shelia, Shirly, and brother Paul. He will be dearly missed by his loving foster siblings Karen, Wayne, & Lyle, and he was predeceased by foster parents Beatrice & Lawerence and brothers Cecel & Craig.
Bob was a grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, and great great great father. Needless to say, he was best known as Grandpa Bob, even to friends and those in the community.
Bob grew up in Manitoulin Island and made his way to Capreol to work for CNR with the B&B gang, where he later retired. Bob loved his town and the people in it. He spent many hours shoveling driveways for homes and businesses, cutting the neighbour’s grass and watering their gardens. Bob enjoyed hunting at his camp, going to yard sales, picking blueberries, and appreciated so much, from visits with family and friends, drives to Tim Horton’s with Luna, to his evening night cap.
The family would like to acknowledge Charmaine & Fern, Rhonda & Scott for their endless support and love. The family would also like to acknowledge the PSW’s Victoria, Chantel, Gabby, & Nurse Amanda, who became a part of Bob’s extended family in the home, for their support and care over the last year. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of Bob’s life, God Bless you, and Thank You.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 25th, 2023 at 6:30 pm at the Lougheed Funeral Home Hanmer/Capreol Chapel 4605 Michelle Drive, Hanmer. Friends may gather at the funeral home on Monday after 5:00 pm. He will be buried with his wife Stella in the Capreol Cemetery on Tuesday, September 26th, 2023 at 1:00 pm.
