Rita Santanna, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away on March 11, 2024, at the age of 84. She has reunited with her loving husband, Antonio, in the embrace of Heaven. Rita will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Rita was a cherished mother to Anna Maria (Michael Lombardi) and Carmelo. Her nurturing spirit and unconditional love extended beyond her immediate family, as she proudly embraced the role of Nonna to Robert, Michelle, and Shawn. Rita’s warmth, wisdom, and kindness touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to have known her.
She will be lovingly remembered by her devoted brother ,Gaetano Crisostimo and wife Elena with whom she shared a beautiful relationship. Rita is now joined in paradise with her beloved sister Maria and brothers Antonio, Giuseppe, Luigi, Angelo, and Giovanni. Though she has left this earthly realm, Rita’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of family and friends.
If so desired, donations in honour of Rita may be made to the Canadian Lung Association.
Rita Sanatanna’s legacy of love, compassion, and strength will continue to inspire those who were blessed to have shared in her life’s journey. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with her beloved Antonio, knowing she was deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
Visitations will take place at the DeMarco Funeral Home (Woodbridge Chapel) (8003 Weston Road, Woodbridge, Ontario, Tel-905-850-9500) on Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 2-4 & 6-9pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. David’s Parish (2601 Major Mackenzie Dr., Maple, On.) on Friday, March 15th at 9:30am. Entombment to follow at Glendale Memorial Gardens (1810 Albion Road, Etobicoke, Ontario).
