It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Stella Rita Hardiman of Garnish announces her passing. Rita passed away suddenly at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre in Burin on Saturday, October 21st, 2023, at the age of 75.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her husband of 37 years, Roy; daughters, Lori Moser (David) of Bradford, ON and Michelle Hardiman of Ajax, ON; 4 grandchildren, Logan Moser, Caleb Moser, Marissa DeRoo and Elise DeRoo; sisters, Hazel Harding of Dartmouth, NS, Doris Day (Jim) Of Garnish, Eileen Matthews (Harold) of Burin, Linda Bulger of St. John’s; sisters-in-law Rose Cluett of Texas, Verna Cluett of Halifax, Rowena Caines of Garnish, Almeda Grandy of Garnish, Shirley Grandy of Garnish, Dorothy Cluett (Reuben) of Pickering, ON, Cora Price of Bowmanville, ON, Marilyn Smith (Peter) of Edmonton, AB; brothers-in-law, Jack Matchem of Pictou, NS, Allan Marsh Hardiman (Jean) of Lewisporte; lifetime friend, Loretta Ravina of Italy; plus a large circle of extended family and friends
Rita was predeceased by her parents, Eugene and Mary Selina Cluett; parents-in-law, Frank and Hilda Hardiman; sisters, Marion Parsons (Willis), Gwendolyn Cluett, Effie Matchem; brothers, Walter Cluett, Morley Cluett; sisters-in-law, Clara Grandy (Curtis), Mildred Harris (Sam); brothers-in-law, Eric Harding, Pat Bulger, Uriah Caines, Earl Grandy, Steve Grandy, George Price.
Rita will always be remembered for her great love for her family and flowers. Loving her was easy.
The Hardiman Family will be accepting visitors at St. Giles Anglican Church in Garnish on

A Celebration of Thanksgiving for the Life of Rita will take place at St. Giles Anglican Church in Garnish on Thursday, October 26th, 2023 at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow at St. Giles Anglican Cemetery.
In Rita’s memory donations may be made to St. Giles Anglican Church or flowers gratefully accepted.
