BREAKENRIDGE, Richard Sydney
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Richard Sydney Breakenridge on Monday, January 9th, 2023 at the age of 80. Beloved husband of 34 years to the late Helen Marie (nee Jensen). Predeceased by parents William Robert Breakenridge and Gwendolyn Ellen (nee Tarr). Survived by sister Sylvia Kinnear. Loving father of Art (Michelle) Breakenridge, Tammy (Andy) McNeil, Pamela (Mark) Gilbreath, and Gloria Amanda (Alex) Bernard. Doting grandfather of Lindsay Jeremiah, Logan, Sebastian and Damian.
Richard was born in Sus-Kent, England, and immigrated to Canada in 1944 with his parents. They settled on Talbot Street in Picton, Ontario.
From a young age he was interested in caring for and breeding tropical fish and as an adult was a member of the Tropical Fish Club in New Liskeard. Later in life, after retiring from 20+ years working at Rexwood, he was able to devote more time to his passion for carpentry, bird watching, and gardening. He achieved an impressive display of fruits, vegetables, and flowers. All of which he lovingly shared with friends and family. He also thoroughly enjoyed doing Jigsaw Puzzles on his computer.
As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Richard’s hope was in God’s promise of a New World. A hope that he shared with others. «And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.» Acts 24:15
Richard will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Memorial service to be held on March 11th, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 433 Muskoka Rd., 3 North, Huntsville, Ontario. Memorial donations may be made to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation – ICU Department or Worldwide Work of Jehovah’s Witnesses through «donate.jw.org».
