It is with great sadness that the family of Rick Bazinet announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. Rick was a devoted father to Chelsea (Jeff) and Brandon (Madison), and son Ricky Jr (predeceased) and new grandfather to Sutton. He is survived by his Father, Dollard Bazinet (Gloria) and is now reunited in heaven with his mother Carol Bazinet (Dennis) and brother Roger predeceased (Sherie). Rick will be especially missed by his beloved friend Judy, loving sister Lorilynn (Mark), and brothers Ron (Lorrie), Rob and Rodney (Nicky) and many close nieces and nephews.
While Rick took great pride in his 38-year career as a highly skilled Newspaper Pressman with Journal Printing; he also had a very passionate entrepreneurial spirit which led to some very rewarding endeavours such as hockey card and comic book memorabilia sales. He also successfully managed many local hockey teams over the years.
Before his illness, Rick’s best days could be found at camp, spending time with his family or meeting up with friends at a local establishment. Rick was the consummate people-person and built many life-long friendships that still stand today. Rick leaves behind a rich legacy of a life that always demonstrated the value of hard work, determination, and never giving up. While Rick accomplished many successful things in his life, it paled in comparison to the pride he had for his children. Rick will be remembered as a fun-loving practical joker who was truly one of the good ones – quietly kind and generous.
A celebration of Rick’s life will be held at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch Street, Sudbury Friday, November 1st, 2024, friends may call between 2-4pm & 6-8pm.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, November 2nd at 10am in the chapel at Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting you honour Rick’s legacy through donations to the Maison McCulloch Hospice.
