It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, uncle, and nephew Rick Cassibo. Rick passed away suddenly on November 9, 2023, at Greater Niagara General Hospital at the age of 71.
Cherished brother of Michael (Margaret). Adored uncle of Christine (Victor), Robert, Michael (Kara), and David (Annika), and great uncle of Grace, Daniella, Hannah, Elliott, and Winona. Rick is predeceased by his mother Annie Cassibo (2018), and survived by his Aunt Flora Thomas, along with several cousins and many friends.
Rick was an avid sports fan. He loved watching professional league sports, particularly hockey, baseball, and football. Rick participated in the Special Olympics winning a gold medal for swimming, and was a member of the Special Olympics bowling league. Rick also loved music, concerts, gardening, and video games. The family would like to thank Niagara Support Services for consistently guiding Rick towards leading his best life.
The family will receive friends at Morse & Son Funeral Home, 5917 Main St., Niagara Falls, on Tuesday November 14th, 2023, between 3-6pm. A funeral mass to celebrate the life of Rick will be held at St. Ann’s Church 5740 Buchanan Ave, Niagara Falls, ON, on Wednesday November 15th, 2023, at 11am, with interment at Fairview Cemetery to follow. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish may make a memorial donation to Niagara Support Services or Special Olympics Canada.
