Reba passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024, five days after her ninety-fourth birthday. Reba was the devoted wife of the late Nathan. Beloved mother and mother-in-law of John (Dayra), Seymour (Aviva), Joel (Barbara) and Sharon (Brahm Goldfarb). Dear sister of Esther Brauer (late Fred) and the late Arnold Luterman (Debbie Ferkin). She adored and was adored by her grandchildren Brian (Wendy), Jessica (Stuart), Joshua (Marika), Erica (Mat), Ross (Jess), Michael, Jason, Arielle (Yoni), Noam (Ross), Matthew, Natalie (Aaron). She was Great Bubbie to Sam, Lyla, Sophie, Isaiah, Zev and Olivia. Reba will be remembered and admired for her strength, and love of her family, friends, and community. She was extremely wise, hardworking, and independent, a tireless volunteer for many organizations and causes throughout her life.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Hillel Lodge who looked after her with compassion for the past two years. A Graveside Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, May 1, at 1pm at Jewish Memorial Gardens, 2692 Bank Street, Ottawa. Shiva will be observed starting Wednesday evening from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and from Thursday until the following Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at 1953 Sharon Avenue. The family will rise from Shiva Tuesday morning. Seymour will be sitting Shiva evenings only,
and Sharon will be sitting Shiva at her home in Toronto starting on Friday. Donations in Reba’s memory may be made to the Nathan and Reba Diener Endowment Fund at the Ottawa Jewish Community Foundation, the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, the Hillel Lodge-Biking for Bubbies, or the charity of choice.
