Randolph “Randy” Cook ~
“Grant me the serenity to accept what I cannot change, the courage to change what I can, and the wisdom to know the difference”,
passed away suddenly at the Ross Memorial Hospital on July 6th after a brief, short illness. Randy, born in Toronto to his parents Donald and Roberta (both predeceased) was in his 70th year and previously predeceased by his loving wife Madelaine (2012). Lovingly remembered by his stepson Brad, Christy and his grandchildren Phoebe and Kahale. Randy will be missed by his extended family, friends, his house mates, especially Maggie and for a guy with a physical stature and personality as big as his, nothing compared to his soft side he had and the love of is cats whom he cared for. There are many special people who have come into Randy’s life but none more important than those in his support groups that helped to guide him when he needed it the most and those who took time to listen to him and his guidance as they needed and helped change his life for the better. On many days you could find him walking around the mall and town or riding the buses, sitting and having a coffee with his chat groups and just listening to those that needed an ear. Family and friends are invited to Celebrations, 35 Lindsay St N, Lindsay, on Monday, July 17th. Visitation will take place from 11:00am until time of funeral service at 1:00pm. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery. For those wishing, donations to the local Humane Society or animal rescue/shelter would be appreciated by the family and can be made by cheque at the funeral home or online and next time you’re in line waiting for your coffee, do a good deed in Randy’s memory and buy the person behind you, their drink.
