Ramona Hazel Williamson of Grandview, Manitoba passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at the age of 95 years.
A Funeral Service will be held for Ramona on Friday, July 19, 2024 at 2:00 pm from the Grandview United Church in Grandview with Rev. Steve Wilson officiating.
Should friends so desire, donations in memory of Ramona may be made to Grandview Personal Care Home Activities Department.

Sadly, Ramona Hazel Williamson (nee Henry) passed away peacefully with her family by her side on June 30, 2024 at the age of 95. Ramona was predeceased by her parents Bill Henry in 1964 and Lila Henry (nee Williamson) in 1995, her husband of 55 years Clifford in 2004, son Lyall in 1983, granddaughter Denise Crowe in 1979, son-in-law Dean Crowe in 2000, brother Barry in 1960, brother Harold in 1983 and his wife Bernice (nee Paulicelli) in 1989, brother Russel in 1991 and his wife Eunice (nee Martin) in 2008, sister-in-law Shirley Olson (nee Williamson) in 2016 and her husband Edwin in 2018.
Ramona will be forever missed by son Wayne and wife Kim Hope, son Dwight and wife Elsie Tanasichuk, daughter Wanda and husband Lindsay Harris, son Brent and wife Marjorie (nee Boschman), granddaughter Leslie (nee Williamson) and husband Brant Yakimishyn, grandson Colin Williamson and partner Jennifer Grayson, grandson Gavin Williamson and wife Natalia (nee Gonzalez), granddaughter Kaylyn Williamson and husband Dale Qually, granddaughter Eryn Williamson and husband Dan Rheault, granddaughter Michelle (nee Crowe) and husband Chad Andres, granddaughter Chantelle (nee Crowe) and husband Lloyd Grenkow, grandson Tyrel Williamson and wife Angela (nee Vessey), grandson Damon Williamson as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ramona loved and was loved dearly by her 14 great grandchildren: Madelyn and Hannah Yakimishyn, Sophie and Holden Williamson, Kaleb and Sophianne Rheault, Shyla Qually, Ty and Callie Andres, Connor, Chyler and Vaughn Grenkow, and Erika and Alaya Williamson.
Ramona grew up on the original Henry homestead in the Umatilla District, attended Artemesia School, then completed her high school education in Grandview. After marrying Clifford Williamson in 1949, they farmed in the Duck Mountain District – a mixed livestock and grain farm and where they raised their five children. Clifford and Ramona moved to their new house in Grandview in 1998 and sold their farm in 1999.
Ramona was a strong supporter of the local community – she was long-time member of the Duck Mountain Women’s Institute, a member of the Dawn of Peace Rebekah Lodge, delivered Meals on Wheels, a member of the United Church where she helped out wherever she could – teaching Sunday school in the early years, working and donating to help the Church support local, national and international activities through the United Church Women, and was a life-time member of the Grandview Men’s and Ladies Curling Club.
Ramona enjoyed many activities – spending time with family and friends, camping for many years at Childs Lake, knitting, crocheting, sewing, tending her garden and especially her roses, fishing, golfing, curling, ensuring that all her many bird houses were well-maintained and her bird feeders full, travelling with family, compiling her family’s history, going for quiet drives in the country especially during harvest time, following friends and her grandchildren’s activities on Facebook and email, and meeting her friends for coffee, games, laughter and good conversation. She was always helpful, always interested in how things were going with her friends, neighbours, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and closely followed all their activities and interests.
Ramona will always be remembered for the kind, caring and gentle person that she was.
