It is with great sorrow and heartbreak, but after a long fight with Alzheimer’s, Queen Elizabeth Brown, age 76, from Hare Bay passed away on July 31, 2023 while surrounded by her family in Camrose, AB.
Queen was born on December 8, 1946 in Twillingate, NF and was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Bernard Brown.
Queen became a very independent woman after losing her husband at the very young age of 53. She could not wait for the day to be with her one and only and the LOVE of her life again, and her final wish has come true.
Her husband and her family were her pride and joy, and the love she had for her husband, her two sons, their partners, and her grandchildren was incredible.
Queen would take the shirt off her back and give to anyone in need. She loved to help when needed, even if it meant doing without herself.
If you watched her house closely in Brown’s Bottom, you would see pies, fresh bread, and several other treats making their way to her many friends who absolutely loved her baking. This made her so happy, sharing with everyone.
Queen is predeceased by her parents Hedley and Violet Young, her brother Lloyd, sister Angela, brothers-in-law Jack Sheppard and Rudy Beker.
Left to mourn are her sons John (Andrew) and Gary (Robbyn), and their families, grandchildren Tyler Brown, Mackenzie (Austin) Brown , Jason Brown and Great Grand Daughter Lillliann Brown. Her sisters, Joyce (Jack) Sheppard, Monnie (Paul) Moores and Olive Young, brother Donald (Glenda) Young, and sister in law Nellie (Lloyd) Young.
The Family would like to thank all the staff at Ivy Bethany House and the Louise Jensen Care Centre. Queen was loved by everyone who knew her there.
Visitation will take place at Oram’s Funeral Home Dover DATE TO FOLLOW from 2 to 4 pm and again from 7 to 9 pm.
Funeral Service will be held at the Salvation Army Corps in Hare Bay DATE TO FOLLOW at 2 pm.
Queen did not like fresh flowers. In lieu of flowers, please consider leaving a card with a special message about Queen and what you remember most about her, or share something special she did for you that will always hold a special place in your heart. The family will cherish all these memories.
