Obituary
DEVINE, Phillip Marshall “Scrab”– 70, Villa St. Joseph du Lac, Dayton, formerly of Woods Harbour, passed away Tuesday September 10, 2024. Born April 17, 1954 at Doctor’s Cove, he was a son of the late Jacob and Janie (Sears) Devine. Phillip lived most of his life in Woods Harbour close to family and friends but spent his final years at Villa St. Joseph du Lac under the care of their wonderful staff. Phillip could do most anything he put his head and hand to, it wasn’t strange to see a hull of a boat sitting in his driveway as he finished it. Phillip often hummed and sang one word melodies on repeat with his granddaughter’s favourite being, “Yesterday”. Phillip is survived by his son, Danny (Tracey); granddaughter, Kennedy; brothers, Louis, Wayne (Leona-Mae), William (Jennifer), Stanley (Cheryl Ann). He was predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Janie. There will be a memorial service held Monday, September 16, at 2 pm at the H.M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington. A reception will follow in the Huskilson’s reception room. It has been requested there be family flowers only, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
