Kimberly (Kim) Pettie-Kloess passed away peacefully on July 25th, 2024, after a brief hospitalization at Ajax Pickering Hospital. Kim was surrounded with love by her daughter Jessica and her husband Mike, who were both by her side at the time of her passing.
Kim and her daughter Jessica had a very close and special bond, with Jessica often being referred to as Kim’s «Mini-Me». Together they enjoyed shopping trips, hot tub nights, and cozy nights in binging Christmas movies (sometimes well before Christmas time). Kim and her husband Mike have spent an amazing 17 years together, travelling and enjoying summers at their trailer. Jessica and Mike will miss Kim tremendously.
Kim grew up in North York with her beloved parents Craig and Barbara (predeceased), and her older brother Brad. Kim and Brad had a close sibling bond growing up, and Kim will be incredibly missed by both Brad and his wife Cindy.
Kim will also be deeply missed by her stepdaughter Deanna (Ken),
and their family. Tyler and Colton will miss their grandmother and spending Christmases with her. Her passing also comes as a loss to her former husband Rick, whom she remained friends with after their 20-year marriage.
Kim had a close relationship with her Aunt Yvonne (predeceased) and her family. She will be missed immensely by her little cousin Amanda, and her children Taylor and Cole.
Kim always looked forward to the Annual Alexander Family Golf Tournament in Quebec every year, and will be missed by countless cousins and extended family. As per her wishes, Kim’s ashes will be spread at the family farm, where she also cast her beloved mother Barbara’s ashes over 20 years ago. Kim also had many fond memories visiting her Uncle Ron and Aunt Arina (predeceased), and her cousins Becky and Kevin at the family cottage.
Always known as a social butterfly, Kim easily made connections and friendships everywhere she went. Some of her closest friends have come from her workplaces (Wynford, Habitat for Humanity, Dragonfly, etc.) over the years. Kim loved going out to the local pubs, where she and Mike formed many close friendships throughout the years.
Anyone who knew Kim, knows she had a deep love of music and a beautiful singing voice. Her former Loading Zone bandmates will forever miss her jumping up on stage to perform during their local gigs!
Visitation Details: A private cremation has taken place. Please join us for an open house Celebration of Kim’s Life at The Fox Goes Free Pub (339 Kingston Road, Pickering) on Sunday, August 25th, 2024. Drop by and have a drink in Kim’s honour anytime between 1:00-5:00pm. Thank you!
