It is with sadness that the family announces the death of Colette on Friday, November 25, 2022 in Kirkland Lake at the age of 80. She succumbed to her cancer after a long battle. She was predeceased by her granddaughters Jessica Cox and Shannon Barlow. She is survived by her husband Roger, of 61 years of marriage, as well as her five children and their spouse: Daniel, Marian (Wade) Cox, Nicole (John) Ivanov, Sylvain (Louise) and Nancy (Jayson) Spangler .
She also leaves eleven grandchildren: Jamie (Christine) Barlow, Amanda (Curtis) Chassis, Jennifer (Robert) Guild, Corey (Tiffany) Cox, Pascal (Michelle) Lafrenière, David Ivanov, Thomas Ivanov, Tara Petitclerc, Paul Petitclerc, Cameron Spangler and Matthew Spangler.
She also leaves twelve great-grandchildren: Jocelyn, Gaetan, Marissa, Brayden, Carolynn, Frank, Liam, Hunter, Emberly, Darius, Ava and Casey, as well as a great-great-grandson, Marcel.
Colette will be missed by her siblings, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and their families,
Colette was greatly appreciated by several organizations: first the Chapleau Cultural Center and then the Daughters of Isabelle, the Club Alliance, as well as the Assomption parish community of Kirkland Lake. She was also appreciated and loved by many friends. She was very generous with her time and good advice.
She loved spending time with her family at the campsite and playing cards.
For those who wish, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society can be made in his memory.
There will be a funeral service held in Colette’s memory on June 24th at 11:00 a.m. at Timiskaming Funeral Cooperative (Formally French Family Funeral Home) in Kirkland Lake, burial to follow
