It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of our dear father at Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus Ontario.
Peter was preceded in death by his wife Linda, brother Bruce (Gayle) and parents Jack and Hilda. Peter will be deeply missed but always celebrated by his children Andy (Destiny) and Kate (Brandon), brother Don (Jane) and sister Judy (Scott) along with his nieces, nephews and many close friends.
Born to Jack and Hilda Brillinger in Richmond Hill Ontario, Peter went on to graduate from Ryerson University and began to work at Eaton’s where he had many roles, enjoyed numerous business trips abroad and became quite accomplished in his career in the wholesale/retail industry. It should also be mentioned that Peter met Linda while working at Eaton’s Yorkdale and that was where their love story began to blossom. Upon the closure of Eaton’s Peter surprised us all when he made the decision to take a job managing the co-op and motel in Chesterfield Inlet Nunavut! Although the time apart was difficult for Peter and Linda, it was a very exciting adventure for Peter and he loved to reminisce and tell stories of his time away up north.
Peter was an avid gardener and he took such pride in the garden at his and Linda’s home in Meadowvale on Oka Road. It was a beautiful sanctuary where he could sit and watch the birds, this was one of his favourite pastimes.
Barbados was Peter’s favourite vacation spot where he and Linda spent many winters with his brothers Bruce, Don and their significant others playing cards, socializing and soaking up the sun while of course enjoying too many Mount Gay Rum drinks during happy hour!
Private family arrangements have been made and for those who wish, memorial donations can be made to Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus Ontario.
