SHAW, Pauline
Pauline Shaw, was born in Poland August 28, 1921. She came to Canada when she was two years old. She died in her sleep at Winchester Glen Retirement Community, Bayshore Transitional Care Unit. She was 41 days short of her 103rd birthday. She lived her whole life in Oshawa, and her senior years were spent at Sunrise Seniors Place. Pauline (Pashie to family and friends) is predeceased by her husband Robert John Shaw (Jake) 2001. They are survived by their three children, Karen McIntyre (Dennis), Michael Shaw (Irma), and Karl Shaw (Martha d.) She is also survived by daughter-in-law Joanne Shaw and sister-in-law Shirley Sciuk, grandchildren Michael McIntyre, Caroline Shaw and Laura Shaw and three great grandchildren, Cameron and Holly McIntyre and Frankie Shaw.
Pashie loved opera, books, dogs, impressionist art, playing cards, documentaries on TV, the Blue Jays and the Maple Leafs. She abhorred gossip and pettiness. She used a computer for games and email up until her 100th birthday. She lived very much in the present and moved with the times. Most of all, she loved her family and friends and was loved in return. She will be missed for her quick wit and sense of humour.
Thank-you for the kindness and care from the PSW’s and staff at Sunrise Place. And Thank-you to the nurses and PSW’s and Dr. Wayne at Bayshore TCU. Pashie always said she was the luckiest person in Oshawa to be in your care.
In lieu of flowers you may make a donation to a local food bank or animal shelter.
There will be a Celebration of Life in the fall 2024.
