It is with profound sadness the families of Paul Blanchard announce his sudden passing on Thursday, May 30th,2024 at the age of 60 years. Left to mourn with many wonderful memories are his wife: Mary Margaret Leonard Blanchard; step-daughter; Sharon Lockyer of Clarenville,NL., sister-in-law: Mary Russell of St. John’s,NL, nephews; Zack and Josh of St. John’s,NL. Cousin Barb of Nova Scotia, aunt Ida Hickey of NL, Friend/ God mother to Sharon; Tish Strowbridge of Arnold’s Cove, NL. Big brother Wayne of New Brunswick. His mother Emily Blanchard (nee Major). Siblings; Hubert (Deanna) Blanchard of Norris Point,NL, Anthony (Jocelyn) Blanchard of Woody Point,NL, Winston (Caroline) Blanchard of Deer Lake,NL and Robert Blanchard of Humber Valley, NL. Nieces, nephews, grand nephews, grand nieces: Jonathon (Sarah) Blanchard of Kentucky, USA, Finn & Malin; James Blanchard of Norris Point,NL; Jessica Blanchard (Donald) of Corner Brook,NL, David, Isaac & Donald; Kaitlynn Blanchard of Deer Lake,NL; Kevin Blanchard (Melissa) of Deer Lake,NL, Naomi & Jennifer; Kyle Blanchard of NL; Kameron Blanchard of Ontario. His aunts and uncles: James Major of Woody Point, NL, Walter Blanchard of Deer Lake, NL, Muriel Parrott of Deer Lake, NL, Marjorie Johnson of Deer Lake,NL, Ralph Parsons of Woody Point,NL, Rita Blanchard of Woody Point,NL and Theresa Major of Nova Scotia. Families-in-law: Vera Welsh, Donald, Juanita, Laura, Owen, Kevin and Tony. Also leaving to mourn are many extended family, friends and co-workers.
Paul was predeceased by his first wife: Sharon (nee Welsh), father: Frederick Blanchard, grandparents: Stewart & Alma Blanchard and Eric & Ellen Major. His aunts and uncles: Roland Major, Robert & Winnie Major, Harold & Julia Blanchard, Gilbert Blanchard, Milton & Georgina Blanchard, Mary Blanchard and Nancy Parsons, also many cousins and friends.
In keeping with Paul’s wishes cremation will take place. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 6th,2024 from the hours of 2-4 pm and continuing 7-9 pm at Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel. Where also the funeral service will take place on Friday, June 7th,2024 at 1 pm. with Rev. Green officiating. Interment will follow at the family plot in Woody Point.
