Paul Joseph Simone passed away peacefully at Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital on July 6, 2024 at 72 years of age. Paul is survived by his daughter Dr. Ellen Simone, ND and husband Graham Liddiard. Husband to Daphne Simone.
Proud grandfather and lovingly known as ‘GrandPaul’ to grandchildren Amber and Cliff.
Devoted oldest son to Rose Simone and predeceased by his father Joseph Simone (2015).
Paul will be greatly missed by his siblings Elizabeth McNee (Victor, deceased 2006), Theresa Bartley (Frank), Christine Risi (Tony), Joseph Simone (Kay) and John Simone.
Paul enjoyed planning family gatherings, picnics and birthday celebrations and will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, friends and business associates.
Paul was a kind and friendly person. He was an avid reader and with his intelligence and persistent nature, he often enjoyed debating hot topics in an effort to share his knowledge, open the minds of others and bring awareness to important causes.
Paul was a visionary and entrepreneur delving into various endeavours. Early on Paul worked as a Salesman for the family business East Side Novelty. He was the owner operator of Eight Day Variety and Video Studio before the days of Blockbuster Video.
Having a vision for the Fireworks industry, Paul was the founding owner and operator of Victory Fireworks, Thornhill. He was instrumental in fighting against the injustice of fireworks sales. He helped to implement bylaws permitting Fireworks to be used by ethnic groups all year round for cultural events.
In recent years Paul was the Founding owner operator of Good to Go Logistics courier business, shipping and delivering products all over Canada and internationally. If it would fit in his van he would deliver it. He enjoyed rising to the challenge to solve a unique logistics puzzle and took great pride in providing courier solutions and employment opportunities.
Paul loved a good pool game since he was a teenager and he’s still looking for the ideal pool cue. Scrabble was Paul’s all time favourite game and we are certain he is playing with reunited loved ones in Heaven.
Paul was a man of many talents and he faced every challenge he met. Paul’s famous line is This is not a Job, it’s an Adventure!
The family would like to thank the staff of the Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital, Critical Care Unit. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Canadian Blood Services would be appreciated.
Cremation has occurred and a celebration of life will be planned for September.
