On the afternoon of December 29,2022, Patrick McLaughlin passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Cornwall Community Hospital. Patrick is survived by his daughter (Joy McLaughlin – husband Andrew Carriere), son (Andrew McLaughlin – wife Krystina McLaughlin), grandchildren (Cameron McLaughlin, Lukas Carriere, William Carriere, Andrew Carriere), sister (Lynda Weeks- husband Robert Weeks), sister (Adele Koeck- husband Christian Koeck), brother (Robert McLaughlin – wife Deborah McLaughlin), and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Patrick has gone on to join his mother Therese Young, father Ernest McLaughlin, brother David McLaughlin, sister Jo-Ann Safruk, and brother Dan McLaughlin.
Patrick (Patty) was born on March 14, 1957, in Ottawa Ontario. Since Patrick was a young man he has always been a hard worker, especially when he began his family – his main priority was to support his kids no matter what.
For many years Patrick was a quiet man, but when necessary he would speak his mind. He was a teacher to many and a great influence.
During his last two years of life he had so much life in him that he made memories that will be cherished by everyone. Patrick lived to see his grandchildren with smiles and full of laughter. Also as an uncle he spent a lot of precious and greatly valued time with his nephew David Sik and family, this time was greatly appreciated and well spent.
Per his wishes, there will be no funeral. There will be cremation and private burial. A Celebration of his Life will be held sometime in the future.
It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye for now Dad. We love and miss you deeply.
