Patricia Ewenin, beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the age of 64 years.
Patricia was born in Lestock, SK, on July 24, 1960.
Patricia had a passion for working with children and was very proud of her work in early childhood education. She provided cultural support to children and their parents.
She was an artist and enjoyed beading, and sewing, and was an excellent cook; she made the best fry bread. Patricia enjoyed going to powwows, dancing, and singing and participated as both a dancer and singer. She loved hockey, and especially loved watching her family members play. Her favourite NHL team was the LA Kings. Patricia had a love of hockey from a young age and enjoyed playing as a child and young adult.
She took all her nieces and nephews and their children as her own. She loved them immensely and did her best to make them feel important. She was the best aunt and gramma.
She was a member of the Woptura Tiospaye, she sundanced and fasted, and participated in ceremonies for over 35 years. In the Tiospaye she found peace, faith, love, and acceptance. She loved you all.
Patricia is survived by her grandsons, Sebastian and Deigo; son Tommy, daughters, Creedance, Jessica (Mike), Ida (Josh), and Danita; and dogs, Clementine Ewenin and Pharrell Ewenin.
Patricia is also survived by her brothers Nicholas and his daughter Creedance; brothers, Norm Monkman, Brad Spence (Tracy), Tasgye Wakan Moves Camp , Tasina Tanka Moves Camp and Dave Turner; sister Cheryl and her children, Alexis, Rockwell, Robin, Katherine, Annabella, Robert, and Madison; favourite sister Lillian (Leonard) and their children, Jeremiah, Lily-Mae, Loggan, Elias, Patricia, Irena, and Leonard Jr.; sister Sundance (Joe) and their children, Lloyd, Phillip, William, and Henry; sisters Marlene, Trudine Moves Camp, , Andrea Moves Camp, Hanna Moves Camp (Andy), and T (Ronald); sister-in-law Monica and her children, Megan, Thor, Skylar, Karlon, Lloyd (Dombees), Will, Nicky, Bluebear, Sam, and Eyanwin; sister-in-law Roberta and her children, Cheyanna, Independance, Shante, Wakanwin, and Skarlett; her sister-in-law Alaequah, favourite aunty Doreen Dustyhorn, many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.
Patricia was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Luke and Marie Ewenin; maternal grandmother Lily Dustyhorn, parents, Lloyd and Catherine Ewenin; hunka parents, Sam and Eileen Moves Camp; brothers, Lloyd, Robert, Richard Roy, Twohoops, and John Moves Camp; nephews, Jonathan, Rory, Bearchild, and Phillip; niece Janine, grandchildren, William, Peta, and Zachary.
Wake Services will be held at the Asiniw-Kisik Education Campus on Kawacatoose First Nation on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 3:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held in the same location on December 21, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.
